Bayer has recently installed two new solar arrays for its R&D Sites. Bayer’s Woodland, CA site achieves 70% energy demand coverage with a 2.7 MW solar and 1 MW / 2 MWh energy storage system developed in collaboration with Enel North America. Spanning 10 acres, the solar array integrates flowering cover crops for aesthetic and ecological benefits. Meanwhile, Bayer’s Whippany, NJ offices feature a 1.7 MW ground-mount solar installation by DSD Renewables, offsetting 25% of its annual usage. Completed in December 2023, it features 3,600 modules installed on trackers.
