The Zen Center of Denver (ZCD) installed a 9.7 kW solar system on their zendo roof on April 24th. The installation, consisting of 24 solar panels, was completed in a single day and will meet all the center’s electricity needs. Financed through a 20-year power purchase agreement with RE-volv, a nonprofit supporting nonprofits in Denver to go solar, ZCD incurred no upfront costs. This initiative not only promotes environmental stewardship but also offers electricity bill savings over time by mitigating rising grid-supplied electricity costs from Xcel Energy. The project aligns with RE-volv’s mission to raise awareness about equitable climate solutions and train future clean energy leaders.
