Trinasolar complete dual-use solar project in New Zealand

China based Trinasolar, a global leader in PV and energy storage solutions, has completed the Rangitaiki Solar Farm in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. This project, in collaboration with New Zealand based Lodestone Energy, represents a grid-scale solar installations in the country. As per Trinasolar, the farm utilizes nearly 60,000 bi-facial Vertex modules on Vanguard 2P tracker systems, enhancing land use efficiency through agrivoltaics, allowing sheep to graze underneath the elevated panels. With a capacity of 32 MW, it generates enough electricity for 7,500 Kiwi homes annually, supporting sustainable farming and energy production. As the sole vendor, Trinasolar ensured streamlined logistics and project management.
