India headquartered Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, commissioned a 126 MW floating solar project in Madhya Pradesh. The project, developed through an EPC contract worth INR 596 crore (~$70.56 million) from NHDC Limited, covers 260 hectares between the Indirasagar and Omkareshwar reservoirs. Utilizing bifacial solar modules, adaptive mooring systems, and a floating inverter platform, the installation is expected to generate 204,580 MWh of electricity annually. It also reduces CO₂ emissions by 173,893 tonnes and conserves 32.5 million cubic meters of water. With this project, TPREL’s total renewable capacity reaches 10.9 GW, of which 5.3 GW is currently operational.
