Nextracker and Unimacts have opened a new 160,000-square-foot factory in Sloan, Nevada, dedicated to producing steel torque tubes for rotating solar panels. This is Unimacts’ second Nextracker-dedicated facility within a year. The two factories will collectively support over 2 GW of new solar power annually, equivalent to powering 400,000 U.S. homes. This initiative is part of Nextracker’s effort to reshore manufacturing and meet rising solar demand, expanding their U.S. facilities to over 20 since 2021. The Sloan factory was inaugurated today with industry leaders, marking a significant step in increasing domestic solar tracker capacity to over 30 GW annually, supporting the creation of 550,000 new clean energy jobs by 2030 under the Inflation Reduction Act.
