GStar Solar has initiated construction on its silicon ingot and wafer factory in Jakarta, Indonesia. The new facility, spanning 60,000 m2, is set to specialize in the production of monocrystalline silicon ingots and large-sized silicon wafers measuring 182 mm and 210 mm. Emphasizing digitalization and intelligent production methods, the factory aims to become a leading silicon wafer production base globally. Boasting an annual capacity of 3 GW for crystal pulling and slicing each, production is scheduled to begin by the end of 2024.
