Resources, this facility will be the second largest utility-scale solar project in the Corpus Christi region, featuring approximately 56,700 panels. It is expected to supply nearly one-third of the refinery’s electricity needs, reducing annual energy costs and cutting grid emissions. The installation, located on 100 acres near Interstate Highway 37, will generate enough electricity to power over 5,100 homes annually and provide 28% of the refinery’s peak power requirements. The $53 million project, involving engineering and construction by US-based DEPCOM Power, will complement the existing Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system, potentially covering up to 60% of the refinery’s daily power needs.
