Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has partnered with Common Energy for four new community solar projects in the greater Portland area, totaling 12 MW capacity and generating 17 million kWh annually. Project ownership and operation fall to Luminace, a subsidiary of Brookfield Renewables. The portfolio will offer subscriptions to commercial, residential, and low-income customers, lowering their energy costs and providing renewable energy certificates. This collaboration reduces annual carbon emissions by over 1,000 metric tons and shifts 80% of the facility’s electricity consumption to community solar projects. Common Energy acknowledges the support of various organizations, including the Energy Trust of Oregon and Portland General Electric, in realizing this endeavor.
