Community Solar expands in Illinois

Castillo Engineering has been named the Engineer of Record (EOR) for three portfolios of community solar projects in Illinois, totaling 56 MW across 14 projects. These projects include three portfolios: 23 MW with Recon Corporation, 21 MW across seven projects, and 12 MW across four projects. Castillo will leverage its in-house civil, electrical, structural, and power system services, alongside its Project Management Office (PMO), to streamline and reduce costs. Completion is expected by Q1 2025. Over the past four years, Illinois has tripled its installed community solar capacity. Castillo’s integrated civil engineering services have been pivotal, seeing a 650% increase in usage over the past year. The firm’s growth is attributed to its comprehensive service offerings and ability to meet high regional demand.
