ACCIONA Energía has commenced operations at the Red-Tailed Hawk PV plant in Wharton County, Texas. This 458 MW facility is the company’s largest solar complex to date, featuring solar panels on Dual-axis trackers. It will generate 742 GWh of electricity annually, powering about 66,500 Texas households and preventing 430,000 tons of CO2 emissions. The project supports ACCIONA Energía’s Social Impact Management program, which invests a portion of its revenue in local education, wellness, and environmental initiatives. It created around 400 jobs during construction and maintains 15 permanent positions. Red-Tailed Hawk enhances ACCIONA Energía’s renewable portfolio in North America, now totaling 2.7 GW. The company is also developing a 280 MW wind farm in Forty Mile County, Alberta, and a 325 MW PV plant in Ohio.
