National Grid Renewables has commenced major construction on two solar projects in southern Minnesota, a 45 MW Fillmore County Solar and 50 MW Louise Solar. Both projects, located within the MISO market, have power purchase agreements with Xcel Energy, aiming to achieve 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050. The initiatives will generate $30 million in direct economic impact over the initial 20 years, offering over $4 million in tax revenue and creating 300 construction jobs. National Grid Renewables emphasizes community stewardship, dedicating $475,000 to charitable funds. Berry Construction Company, Inc. will handle construction using First Solar’s Series 6 Plus bifacial solar modules.
