Turroneros II plant expansion adds 15 MW to X-ELIO’s portfolio

Spain-based renewable energy firm X-ELIO has commissioned Turroneros II, the second phase of its solar PV plant in Xixona, Alicante. The new addition provides 15 MW of capacity. Combined with the first phase, total capacity now reaches 50 MW. This project is part of X-ELIO’s strategy which includes investing €250 million (~$270 million) in the Valencian Community’s renewable sector. The company currently operates 50 MW and has 283 MW under development in the region. In addition to expanding renewable energy infrastructure, X-ELIO has implemented community initiatives focusing on education, the environment, and public welfare. These include guided tours of the solar plants for local schools and installing solar-powered streetlights along the path to Xixona Castle.
