World Bank’s report, “Unlocking the Potential of Floating Solar Photovoltaics in India” led by Surbhi Goyal, highlights untapped 4 TW global capacity in inland waters. Asia, particularly China and India, anticipates substantial FPV growth. Short-term Indian goals focus on inland waters, with long-term plans for offshore expansion. To achieve 2-3 GW annual installations in three years, and 6-8 GW in over a decade, the value chain must be upscaled more than five and ten times, respectively.
