France-based Voltalia ,A Global renewable energy firm, has secured a 139 MW solar project in Menzel Habib, Gabès, Tunisia, following its earlier Sagdoud project award. The power station was designed to supply energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 620,000 residents and to prevent 360,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. Construction was planned to begin in late 2025, with commissioning scheduled for 2027, under a 25-year electricity sales contract. Located 125 km from the Sagdoud project, the proximity allowed shared costs for construction, transport, and maintenance.
