Vast Renewables Limited is progressing with its 30 MW VS1 solar project in Port Augusta, South Australia. The project will use Vast’s CSP v3.0 technology, generating clean power with efficient thermal energy storage. Engineering contracts have been signed with Afry, FYFE, Primero, and Worley for the project’s design phase. Supported by government funding, including AUD 65 million from ARENA, the project seeks to enhance Australia’s renewable energy capabilities. VS1 will be located alongside the SM1 green methanol demonstration plant. The VS1 project is planned to start operations in Q4 2024.
