Property developer UEM Sunrise, ITRAMAS Corp, and China Machinery Engineering Corp (CMEC) have signed an agreement to develop a 40-acre renewable energy industrial park in Johor. The park aims to attract Chinese manufacturers, suppliers, and high-tech research firms in the renewable energy and electric vehicle (EV) sectors. This project is part of UEM Sunrise’s majority shareholder UEM Group’s 1 GW hybrid solar power plant initiative under Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). The park will feature a renewable energy hub, including a solar module factory and research facilities, to boost Malaysia’s energy transition and EV ecosystems. CMEC’s expertise in new energy, data centers, warehousing, and smart logistics aligns with the interests of Malaysian partners.
