Trinasolar signed a long-term collaboration agreement with the Institute of Solar Energy at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (IES-UPM) on June 26. This milestone highlights Trinasolar’s commitment to education, research, and innovation in solar energy. According to the company, this partnership will pool expertise to advance research in photovoltaic sciences, aiming to innovate solar panel efficiency, the resilience of solar trackers, and solar energy management. Trinasolar allocated $768 million to R&D last year, a 19.7% increase from 2022, emphasizing the importance of R&D in the industry’s progress. IES-UPM, founded in 1979, is a pioneer in solar energy research. Additionally, Trinasolar will establish a state-of-the-art training center at IES-UPM, its first in Spain, equipped with the latest solar technologies to support regional solar energy development.
