Trina Solar’s 210 mm TOPCon module has achieved a world record of 740.6 W, certified by TÜV SÜD, as announced by its State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology in Changzhou. This accomplishment is attributed to advanced processes such as i-TOPCon, laser-induced firing, and edge passivation. As per the company, these technologies enhance cell passivation and optical utilization while minimizing electrical losses. Trina Solar has been into the industrial application of i-TOPCon technology since setting the first world record in 2015. Mass production of the Vertex N 700W+ series modules began in August, with the highest power output of 720.53 W among mass-producible TOPCon modules. Trina Solar’s n-type modules are claimed to be commonly used in utility and C&I power plants by the company.
