Terrasmart, an Ohio-based provider of racking systems and project-optimization software, has received a DNV endorsement for its advanced solar-tracking algorithms. The endorsement enables developers to incorporate verified energy-gain estimates into financial models, strengthening bankability for distributed-generation and utility projects. Terrasmart’s terrain-aware algorithm improves output by 1–3% by accounting for site slopes, tracker positions, and spacing. Its irradiance-optimized algorithm delivers up to 2% gains by adjusting tracking modes during cloudy conditions. Both algorithms are integrated into the PeakYield platform to support more accurate performance assumptions. Earlier this year, Terrasmart has strengthened ground screw manufacturing for 500 MW deployment.
