Terrasmart, a US-based provider of solar racking and foundation solutions, has started in-house ground screw production at its Cincinnati, Ohio facility. According to Terrasmart, the facility is equipped with twelve workstations and specialized machinery, including plasma cutters, welders, induction heaters, and stamping presses. The company has stated that the new production line is expected to support 500 MW of upcoming solar PV projects across varied site conditions. Ground screws will be produced in three sizes to complement existing pile and ballast foundation systems within its portfolio. Terrasmart confirmed that its assembly team was trained in five new technical skills to operate the line. By relocating manufacturing domestically, Terrasmart has positioned its components to meet domestic content requirements and qualify for a 10% tax incentive under the Inflation Reduction Act. Earlier this year, Terrasmart partnered with ESA to deliver a 3 MW solar canopy project at AdventHealth in Florida.
