KAPP, Kuwait’s public-private partnership authority, has opened bidding for a 0.5 GW solar project combining the Al Dibdibah and Al Shagaya Phase III developments. KAPP invited six pre-qualified consortiums to submit proposals structured under a 30-year PPA. According to KAPP, the selected developer would assume development, financing, design, construction, and long-term operation responsibilities. KAPP added that the current tender is in line with ongoing national energy-infrastructure activity at both Al Khairan and Al-Zour North. Earlier this year, KAPP was seeking bidders for a 500 MW PV tender in Shagayah.
