KAPP invites bids for 500 MW solar project in Shagayah, Kuwait

Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) invited prequalification for a 500 MW solar PV project in Shagayah, with bids due by 24 July 2025.

Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has invited prequalification applications for Zone 2 of the Al Dibdibah Power and Al Shagaya Renewable Energy (Phase III). The zone includes a 500 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power project. The project would follow a design, finance, build, operate, maintain, and transfer model with a 30-year power purchase agreement with Ministry of Electricity & Water & Renewable Energy (MEWRE). Applications were accepted from 18 May to 24 July 2025. It is located in Shagayah, Jahra Governorate, around 100 km from Kuwait City. Prequalified bidders for the 1.1 GW Zone 1 were named on 30 July 2024. Advisory roles were held by Ernst & Young, DLA Piper, and DNV.
