Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC), a Thimphu-based state-owned hydropower and renewable energy utility has invited international bids for the 120 MW Wobthang PV Power Plant in central Bhutan. The project is part of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-financed Solar Farm Expansion Project under Loan 58265-001 BHU. According to the invitation, the contract covers design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the plant. Procurement is being conducted through ADB’s Open Competitive Bidding, Single-Stage, Two-Envelope procedure for eligible bidders. Bidders are required to demonstrate experience with similar PV projects, as specified in the bidding documents. The package, designated OCB No. DGPC/CO0040/2025-Subproject 1, was issued on 15 December 2025, while the bids are due at DGPC’s Thimphu office by 26 January 2026 at 15:00 Bhutan Standard Time. Submissions will be opened promptly at the deadline, and any late bids will be rejected, according to the tender invitation. Recently, ADB has approved a $650 million loan supporting India’s rooftop solar programme.
