X-ELIO, a Madrid-based renewable energy developer owned by Brookfield, has put into operation its CSF Cubillas PV plant in Albolote, Granada. The project has an installed capacity of 35 MW and has required an investment of €37 million (~ $40 million). This Spanish project is expected to produce 71,733 MWh annually, supplying electricity to nearly 20,500 households. With this addition, X-ELIO said its total installed capacity in Andalusia has reached 255 MW across seven operational plants. In support of local initiatives, X-ELIO signed an agreement in 2023 with the University of Granada to establish the “X-ELIO – Villa Romana Cortijo del Canal Chair.” The initiative was designed to support archaeological research, educational programs, and community engagement in Albolote. Recently, X-ELIO and NZCB have secured PPA totaling 172 MW for PV projects in Texas.
