France-based Qair announced a 26 MW solar project in Castellammare, Sicily.The project was awarded through Italy’s 16th FER 1 Decree tender, administered by the national energy agency, GestoredeiServiziEnergetici (GSE).The process ended the current renewable energy incentive program, which distributed 457.6 MW across solar, wind, and hydro. Krzysztof Wojtysiak was named Country Director for Italy. He had earlier led Qair Polska and set up the company’s presence in Montenegro. Qair also completed a solar park in Marrubiù, Sardinia, and operated a wind farm in Piedmont. It planned to start building 100 MW of approved solar projects and worked on a 1.5 GW renewable energy pipeline in Italy. Recently,CGES granted grid approval for Qair’s 50.13 MW Rudine solar project.
