Madrid-based Q ENERGY plans to build three new solar power plants in Andalusia. The projects will have capacities of 105 MW, 73 MW, and 26 MW. They will be located in Seville, Jaen, and Cordoba. Q ENERGY will handle development, engineering, procurement, and construction. During construction, over 350,000 solar panels will be installed. These panels are placed on moving structures to improve energy production. Once finished, the plants will provide electricity for more than 92,000 Spanish homes. They will also reduce over 62,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year. The solar farms span more than 450 hectares. They are set to be completed between late 2025 and mid-2026. Besides these projects, Q ENERGY is also working on four more solar farms in Andalusia. These farms are either being built or about to start operating. Altogether, the company’s projects in the region will reach a total capacity of around 400 MW by 2026. Recently, Q Energy sold a 130 MW solar and wind portfolio in France to Velto Renewables.
