US-headquartered Nautilus Solar Energy acquired nearly 11 MW (DC) of Illinois community solar projects from Renewable Properties. The projects were developed under the Illinois Shines program. They included the 7 MW Highway 20 Solar project in Kane County and the 4 MW Deep Lake project in the Village of Antioch. Highway 20 Solar was in advanced construction stages and expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2025. Deep Lake was projected to serve subscribers by the end of 2026. Once operational, both projects would generate 17,300 MWh annually, supplying electricity to approximately 2,615 Illinois homes. Nautilus Solar planned to complete these projects for the Illinois Shines program. As of 2025, Renewable Properties had over 1.2 GW of solar, energy storage, and EV infrastructure under development across 16 states.Recently, Nautilus Solar also expanded its Maine community solar portfolio to 160 MW in 2024, further strengthening its presence in the region.
