National Grid Renewables, headquartered in Minnesota, has commenced operations at the 95 MW Fillmore and Louise Solar projects in Minnesota. Xcel Energy has integrated the projects into its Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota service areas. The projects have been developed within the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) market and constructed by Berry Construction Company, Inc., employing 300 workers. Over 20 years, they have an expected economic impact of $30 million, including $4 million in tax revenue and $380,000 for education funds. They have a projected CO₂ offset of 2 million metric tons over the first 20 years of operation. The energy generated has the capacity to power 497,000 homes over two decades, supporting regional electrification efforts like electric vehicle adoption and data center development.
