Luthiana-based Ignitis Renewables has launched the 72.5 MW Stelpe solar farm in Bauska municipality, Latvia, marking the second of three large-scale solar projects planned in the country. Covering 85 hectares and equipped with 121,000 panels, the facility was developed with an investment of up to €50 million(~ $54.5 million) and will operate under market conditions. Stelpe solar farm I is part of a broader 400 MW portfolio that also includes the recently operational 94 MW Vārme solar farm and the under-development 174 MW Tume project, collectively expected to supply electricity to nearly 200,000 households annually.
