Ignitis Renewables, a global green energy company, has completed the 94 MWVārme solar farm in Kuldīga, Latvia. Spanning 110 hectares, the facility is equipped with 156,000 panels and is expected to supply power to over 40,000 households annually. It is the company’s first operational solar project in Latvia. Vārme is part of a larger plan that includes two more solar farms—145 MW Stelpe and 174 MW Tume—currently under construction. Together, the three sites will exceed 400MW capacity and power nearly 200,000 households each year. The total investment in Vārme, including acquisition and construction, was approximately €66 million. The project will operate under market conditions and contribute to Latvia’s green energy supply. Ignitis Renewables has worked with local municipalities and maintained environmental standards while developing these projects to support renewable energy growth across the Baltics.
