Switzerland-based Axpo, an European energy traders, has commenced construction of two ground-mounted PV power plants in northern Germany. The projects are in Borgdorf-Seedorf and Eisendorf, about 30 kilometres southwest of Kiel, covering over 38 hectares. The Borgdorf-Seedorf site has a capacity of 30 MW on 20 hectares and Eisendorf’s plant has 15 MW on 18 hectares. Combined annual output is expected to exceed 45.5 GWh. Both the PV plants are scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2025. Axpo also teamed up with Raiffeisen Waren-Zentrale to develop solar parks in Germany as part of its efforts to expand with these installations.
