China-based Huasun Energy was named a finalist for The smarter E AWARD 2025 in the Photovoltaics category for its Kunlun Series Ultra-high Bifaciality HJT Solar Module. Designed for vertical installation, the module used heterojunction solar cells with bifaciality close to 100 percent. Each 3.1-square-meter panel achieved nearly 770 W output, with 24.75% efficiency. The modules featured steel alloy frames and supported loads up to 2,400 Pa. A 30-year output guarantee was provided, with less than 9.7% degradation. As per company, in a 96.8 MW vertical system case study in Blankenfelde, Germany, 720 W Kunlun modules increased operating hours by 7.91%, saved 10 hectares of land, and cut BOS costs by 1.92%. LCOE dropped by 8.72% and IRR rose by 3.76%. Vertical systems also helped reduce power loss from dust, snow, shading, and mechanical stress.
