AIKO, a solar manufacturer based in Shanghai, has announced that its Nebular module was approved by Tokyo’s 2024 solar program. As per Tokyo Metropolitan Government records, it is the only module selected in the “non-glass, anti-glare” category among 193 certified products. The approved systems are eligible for subsidies up to JPY 80,000/kW (~$560/kW) for residential rooftop installations. AIKO said the Nebular module weighs 8.6 kg, covers under 2 sq mts, and is about 60% lighter than glass modules. It uses n-type ABC technology, achieving 22.5% efficiency and 450 W output. According to AIKO, its dual-beam frame and rear-side structure improve thermal dissipation and crack resistance. The anti-glare finish supports use near sensitive areas like highways and airports.
