Nextracker, a US-based provider of solar tracker and power plant optimization solutions, recently announced the launch of NX PowerMerge, a DC trunk connector. NX PowerMerge is designed for both tracker and fixed installations, featuring a 2 kV rating, 400 A+ ampacity, and capacity for eight tap wires. The connector accommodates trunk conductors of up to 1000 kcmil and is meant to ease installation as well as minimize connection points. This design, as per Nextracker, will speed up commissioning, reduce operation and maintenance expenses, and improve reliability and long-term energy production. Deliveries are planned to begin in spring 2026, with a US-manufactured option available. This launch represents Nextracker’s first electrical balance of systems product release since it acquired Bentek earlier this year. Nextracker said the product will be showcased at RE+ 2025 in Las Vegas, scheduled between September 8 and 10. Earlier this year, Nextracker was also selected to supply 1.5 GW of solar trackers for hybrid power projects in Brazil.
