LONGi, China's leading photovoltaic module producer, showcased two certified efficiency milestones at SNEC 2025 in Shanghai. Its crystalline silicon-perovskite two-terminal tandem solar cell has reached 33% efficiency on a 260.9cm² area, marking the first such result at mass-production scale. Its back-contact (BC) module has achieved over 26% efficiency, advancing silicon module performance to the commercial target of 27%. Both the records were confirmed by the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory and published in the 66th edition of the Solar Cell Efficiency Tables. The breakthroughs, LONGi says, demonstrate continuous structural and material innovations for maximizing energy generation and lowering PV costs. The 33% tandem result is a 20% increase over traditional silicon solar cells. During the same event, LONGi also debuted a 700W module with 25.9% efficiency and HIBC technology.
