Sydney Zoo has partnered with EnergyAustralia for a renewable energy project, installing 602 solar panels across 8 buildings on its 41-acre property. These panels are expected to generate up to half of the zoo's electricity on sunny days, benefiting animal care and the 1 million-litershark tank. The move aims to cut over 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the first year, meeting the energy needs of the 4,000 animals under its shelter. The two-year partnershipalso offerseducational programs for the zoo's 80,000 annual student visitors.
