Sydney Zoo has partnered with EnergyAustralia for a renewable energy project, installing 602 solar panels across 8 buildings on its 41-acre property. These panels are expected to generate up to half of the zoo’s electricity on sunny days, benefiting animal care and the 1 million-liter shark tank. The move aims to cut over 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the first year, meeting the energy needs of the 4,000 animals under its shelter. The two-year partnership also offerseducational programs for the zoo’s 80,000 annual student visitors.
