Sveaskog, Sweden’s largest forest owner, has entered a strategic partnership with Alight, a leading solar park developer, to develop 2 GW of solar power projects over the next five years. The first two projects under this partnership involve a 150-hectare solar park in central Sweden and a 70-hectare solar park in southern Sweden, both in regions with significant electricity deficits. Sveaskog will co-invest between 30% and 49% in these solar parks, contributing sustainable management practices during the development process. This partnership is a significant step in Sweden’s renewable energy expansion, with Sveaskog’s land offering the potential to generate around 5 GW of renewable energy, more than doubling the country’s current installed solar capacity.
