Sunlight Energy Investments, a subsidiary of Genie Energy Ltd., has acquired a solar development project in Hamilton, Indiana. The project will supply power to Hamilton Community High and Elementary Schools via fixed-price solar PPAs. Sunlight Energy, backed by Genie Energy, a provider of retail and renewable energy solutions, functions as an equity financing vehicle for solar projects, with third-party investors invited to participate. This acquisition follows Sunlight Energy’s previous purchase of 12 operational solar arrays in Ohio and Michigan, totaling 9.4 MW, serving educational facilities.
