German agrivoltaics solar developer SUNfarming GmbH has partnered with French multi-technical services provider SPIE to build the substation for a planned 753 MW agrivoltaic plant in Germany. The Klimapark Steinhoefel solar park will span approximately 500 hectares across eight districts in eastern Germany. The park will utilize bifacial PV modules installed at a height of 2.10 meters, enabling efficient dual land use for both solar energy generation and agricultural activities. SPIE will handle everything for the project, from getting permits to installing the substation. This plant uses four transformers to send electricity it generates through 110 KV cables to the regional grid operator E.DIS. Construction of the substation is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2025, with commissioning anticipated by the second quarter of 2026.
