SUNation, the New York-based subsidiary of Pineapple Energy Inc., has completed initial engineering for an 8.46 MW solar project series on Long Island, valued at around $11 million. According to SUNation, the engineering phase was conducted under an exclusive Letter of Intent (LoI) focusing solely on engineering services. SUNation is now in discussions to expand its role to PV module installations and racking system setups across several Long Island sites. The company indicates that while the LoI addresses only engineering services, future installation contracts remain non-binding until formalized. The client has requested anonymity, and if finalized, construction is anticipated to begin by 2025. The progression from engineering to potential installation reflects SUNation’s intent to broaden its solar infrastructure footprint in the region.
