A government-owned Australian energy company, Stanwell, has entered into a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to buy up to 550 MW of renewable energy fromthe Bulli Creek Solar Farm, located125 kilometers southwest of Toowoomba. Bulli Creek, co-developed by Genex and J-Power, is expected to become Australia’s largest grid-connected solar facility, generating 775MW and 2,234 GWh annually in its first stage. The project, part of a larger clean energy park that will eventually expand to 2 GW, is set to begin construction in early 2025 and will create 800 jobs. Additionally, Stanwell’s subsidiary, SAMCo, has secured a five-year contract to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services at Genex’s 50 MW Kidston Solar Farm in Far North Queensland.
