Solestial Inc., a US-based leader in space solar energy solutions, has formed a strategic alliance with Meyer Burger Technology AG, a Swiss company renowned for its advanced solar cell and module technology. This partnership aims to revolutionize silicon solar technology for space applications. Solestial’s proficiency in producing radiation-resistant and flexible solar modules will be complemented by Meyer Burger’s cutting-edge silicon heterojunction technology and defect engineering. According to the partnership agreement, Meyer Burger will process ultra-thin silicon wafers from Solestial and return them to Solestial’s facility in Tempe, AZ, for final integration. This collaboration is set to enable Solestial to produce over 1 MW of solar modules annually by mid-2025.
