SolarTech, a leading solar provider in California, recently completed a customized solar installation for Toyota of Escondido and Hyundai of Escondido, addressing rising energy costs and the shift towards electric vehicles by 2030. To expedite financial benefits, both dealerships turned to SolarTech for rapid solar solutions. Despite supply chain challenges affecting module dimensions, SolarTech efficiently re-engineered layouts and secured swift approvals from city officials, minimizing delays to just 30 days. A “solar day” event streamlined the installation of over 1800 modules within 24 hours, ensuring minimal operational disruption. According to SolarTech, this adaptive engineering approach will save Toyota and Hyundai Escondido over $20M in energy costs over the next three decades. Both dealerships capitalized on favorable NEM 2.0 rates preemptively, anticipating legislative changes that could reduce returns. Additionally, the newly installed solar arrays will power upcoming EV charging stations, ensuring long-term sustainability and cost efficiency.
