SolarEdge launches dynamic rate optimization for homes

SolarEdge Technologies, a leader in smart energy technology, has launched a dynamic rate optimization capability for homeowners with dynamic electricity rates in the Netherlands. This feature, powered by the SolarEdge ONE AI system, claims to maximize savings by linking to day-ahead electricity markets and creating personalized 24-hour energy plans. It utilizes real-time data and AI algorithms to optimize energy usage throughout the day, taking into account weather forecasts, utility rates, home consumption patterns, solar production, and homeowner preferences. Based on these factors, SolarEdge ONE can divert excess solar energy to prioritized devices, charge batteries during off-peak hours, or maximize feed-in revenue by discharging during peak pricing times. This launch expands SolarEdge ONE’s software capabilities, following the recent introduction of the Negative Rate Optimization feature.
