Sol Systems, a leader in renewable energy financing and development, has partnered with SOLARCYCLE, an advanced solar recycling company, to ensure sustainability across the lifecycle of Sol Systems’ solar panels. This collaboration addresses the challenge of recycling retired panels by utilizing SOLARCYCLE’s technology to extract and recycle vital materials such as silver, silicon, copper, aluminum, and glass. By diverting high-value materials from landfills and recovering up to 95% of their value, the partnership supports a circular economy. This collaboration has already completed two projects, addressing the environmental impact of solar panel disposal. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s projection suggests that by 2040, recycled panels could fulfill 25 to 30% of the US‘s solar manufacturing needs, enhancing domestic manufacturing and reducing vulnerability to supply disruptions.
