Silicon Ranch, a Nashville-based renewable energy company, and Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE), the second-largest electric cooperative in the US, have partnered on the 110 MW AC Copeland Solar Farm. This farm, located in Cumberland County, Tennessee, will serve as the largest solar facility for a local power company in the Tennessee Valley. Silicon Ranch will fund, construct, own, operate, and maintain the project, with MTE benefiting from the generated power and environmental attributes. The collaboration aims to benefit over 750,000 Tennesseans across 11 counties, with MTE realizing immediate savings upon operation commencement in late 2027. Silicon Ranch’s investment is expected to generate substantial tax revenue for Cumberland County, supporting local infrastructure and schools.
