Silicon Ranch, a leading independent power producer in the U.S., has energized its first international solar project, the 58MW Scotford Solar Farm in Alberta, Canada. Located near Edmonton, this facility is the largest behind-the-meter solar project in Canada and will provide Shell’s Energy and Chemicals Park in Scotford with renewable energy, meeting approximately 20% of the refinery’s energy needs and 100% at peak capacity. The Scotford Solar Farm also marks the first large-scale solar installation in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland. Silicon Ranch will own, operate, and maintain the facility.
