SEG Solar and Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang have formalized a Land Utilization Agreement for the establishment of a photovoltaic industrial park in Batang Regency, Java, Indonesia. This collaboration aims to develop Southeast Asia’s largest PV industrial park, encompassing facilities for silicon ingots, wafers, cells, and modules production. With an investment exceeding $500 million, the park spans over 40 hectares and integrates a capacity of 5 GW each for wafers, cells, and modules. In its initial phase, the project targets the construction of facilities with a production capacity of 5 GW for cells and 3 GW for modules by Q2 2025. The cells produced at this facility will be used at SEG’s global module factory, enhancing supply chain traceability and material reliability. The endeavor is anticipated to generate over 3,000 employment opportunities, fostering economic growth within the local community.
