SEG Solar (SEG), a leading US-based solar module manufacturer, has begun constructing a vertically integrated PV industrial park in Central Java, Indonesia. The facility is designed to have a 5 GW annual production capacity for silicon ingots, wafers, cells, and modules, marking it as the largest of its kind in Indonesia. According to SEG, the first phase will focus on building 10 advanced n-type cell production lines with a 5 GW output target, scheduled for completion by Q2 2025. SEG plans to partner with local suppliers for components such as wafers and EVA films. The company claims the park will also support its Houston-based module factory, ensuring a reliable supply chain. The project aims to create over 3,000 local jobs and strengthen SEG’s global presence.
