RATCH-Australia Corporation (RAC) has signed an agreement with Stanwell Asset Maintenance Company (SAMCo) to take over the O&M of RAC’s 42.5 MW Collinsville Solar Farm in the Whitsundays region. This is SAMCo’s first solar O&M contract following several recent wind farm maintenance deals. This move aligns with the state’s goal to transition to 80% renewable energy by 2035. RAC, with over 230 MW in operation and 800 MW under development has a long-standing presence in the Collinsville area. RAC acquired a coal power station in 2011, which was later transformed into the solar farm in 2018. The Collinsville Solar Farm generates enough electricity to power 15,000 homes each year, reducing CO2 emissions by 90,000 tonnes.
